At Ackerstein Sustainability, we believe that businesses must take an active role supporting the causes that inspire their employees; to that end, we are proud to support the following non-profits:

Community Action Fund for Women in Africa
Our friend Linda Cole operates this grass-roots non-profit. Community Action Fund for Women in Africa (CAFWA) works to empower women in post-conflict areas to help rebuild their lives. CAFWA believes women should be active stakeholders in defining their own development strategies in communities around the world.

Surfrider Foundation
The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network. Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, California, the Surfrider Foundation now maintains over 250,000 supporters, activists and members worldwide.

Sea Turtle Restoration Project
The Sea Turtle Restoration Project works to protect endangered sea turtles around the world from human-caused threats at nesting beaches and in the ocean.

The Otter Project
The Otter Project seeks to promote the rapid restoration of the iconic Santa Cruz endangered species (and yes, charismatic megafauna) the California Sea Otter.

Waves for Water
Waves for Water is a non-profit started by traveling surfers working to bring clean drinking water to every person that needs it.

Bonneville Environmental Foundation
Ackerstein Sustainability offsets 100% of our carbon emissions from car and air travel with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation.
